Senior Accountant



Description: Under general supervision of the District Manager, the Senior Accountant’s initial but primary function is to observe, evaluate, and advise the District Manager and Board of Commissioners on efficiency improvements relevant to the District’s internal processes, procedures, and financial systems, including tax, utility, and point of sale (POS) software.


Must be Knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), Code of Federal Regulations, State/Federal Regulations, and requirements governing the various grant programs.


Additional required experience and knowledge in payroll, payroll taxes, fund accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, accounting software, preparation of monthly financial statements, year-end financial statements, and preparation for annual audits.


The Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District is responsible for providing local public services; including, streets and roads, water and wastewater, fire, EMS, and recreational facilities to a community of approximately 2300 people. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. $45,000 - $55,000
